Meet my new friend, Mr.Beetroot smoothie! This smoothie is impossible to ignore and once you see this bright and cheerful shade of pink you will fall in love with it. It’s like spring in a glass….
This beauty is made of beetroot(obviously), but also apple, banana, chia seeds and coconut milk. I can imagine you are rolling your eyes remembering the childhood days when the beetroot was your worst nightmare, but trust you me, this smoothie other than being pink and full of good stuff, is also heaven in a glass.
Promise me that you will give it a try so you can tell me all about your love relationship with raw beets after your experience.
You need only 5-min for this smoothie. I would recommend it as a breakfast option as all the ingredients are healthy and will help you to boost your energy in the morning.
Frankly , I was also one of those who didn’t enjoy eating beetroot much. But once I tried it as a part of my smoothie, I can’t stop! C´mon, look at that pink color guys, it’s impossible to ignore. All I’ve been thinking about for days has been how to get that colour into a smoothie that I would actually enjoy. So here it is. Mr. Beetroot smoothie!
What should you expect? Well, you get a fresh and sweet flavour. It does not taste like earth – like most of you probably think.
If I didn’t convince you with the color or the flavor, continue reading.
Beetroot helps lower blood pressure; apples are packed with fibre; bananas are great for energy levels and chia seeds are high in fibre, protein and omega-3 (wow, you marvelous little seeds). No wonder this smoothie screams health!
Have I convinced you to try it yet?
1 small beetroot – roasted, peeled & roughly chopped
1 apple – peeled
1 cup coconut milk
1 table spoon chia seeds
A Handful of ice cubes
Put the beetroot, apple, coconut milk, chia seeds and banana into the blender and blend for 30 seconds.
Tip: Blending two times really does help breakdown the beetroot to give a smoother drink.
