In the past few years slowly but surely I’ve become a person that focuses on the protein intake. I see protein labels on food products and I instantly buy them. I just love the feeling when I know that my daily protein intake will be satisfied.
Have you heard of Pea protein powder yet? This veggie powder is becoming very popular among the gym-lovers as well as those people who love to eat clean and be healthy. Why this pea protein got the attention? Not only because it’s gluten and dairy-free, but also there are proofs that it can be very beneficial for your heart and kidneys!
During the hot summer days, its almost impossible for me to eat enough protein food because preparing a protein-rich meal can be a hassle. Also, eating meat very often during the summer is not really recommended. That’s why smoothies with protein powder are my favourite option, they help me increase the protein intake, and I only need 10 minutes to prepare it.
Pea protein powder is among the most hypoallergenic of all protein powders, It doesn’t upset the stomach and it wont make you bloated, which happens to me with all the other protein powders that I have tried.
One of the many things that I love about this veggie powder is that helps me feel full for a longer time. That’s because it has the ability to lower levels of the hunger hormone, ghrelin. Our stomach produces this hormone when it’s empty, and this then goes on to the brain giving it information that we are hungry. The pea powder’s role is to produce peptides that will slow down the procedure of emptying the stomach and the production of the hormone ghrelin.
All of this tells you that this protein powder is a perfect thing for you if you want to lose weight. And not only is good for your weight, but it’s proven to contribute to a healthier heart. The analysis show that it lowers high blood pressure.
One reason why pea protein powder is my new favourite is because it helps in the process of muscle growth and muscle recovery. It is even proved that it works the same way as dairy based proteins work. So, all of you whey protein lovers, take my advise and try adding pea protein powder into your after work-out shakes. It will perform the same magic and much more.
Among a lot of other reasons, an additional reason of adding the pea protein to your daily protein intake is that it has about five more grams of protein per serving than whey protein, so it can definitely be amazing for muscle growth, burning fat and maintaining your heart health.
An easy way to start is adding it to your daily smoothie. It has a mild flavor which means you wont even taste it.
My Pineapple Pea Protein smoothie is a great post-workout smoothie or a perfect start to the day. You can experiment with your own fruit combinations to complement the pea powder.
You will love it, it helps keep you full, and you would never guess it’s also dairy free! What a treat!
